COVET | Christian Dior Velvet Eyes Backstage Eyeliners-To-Wear

cov·et/ˈkəvit/
Verb: Yearn to possess or have (something).

If there is one item in my beauty arsenal that I stock up on, yet almost always neglect to use, it’s false lashes. I am persistently running late, so I rarely have the extra 10 minutes it takes to apply falsies. If I actually used the lovely wisps I have lying around in my bathroom drawers, I might be able to justify purchasing this COVET, the Christian Dior Velvet Eyes Backstage Eyeliners-To-Wear Adhesive Eyeliner Patches (wow, that’s a mouthful).

These reusable appliques are applied to the makeup-free eye area in place of conventional eyeliner to create a bold look. Can you imagine zero drying time for liquid liners? No transference of product to your upper lid? A truly no-smudge / no-fade eyeliner!? Yes, all of this sounds amazing, but for a product that I probably would not allow myself the time to apply, would only use for special occasions, and has a $59 price tag, I might have to pass and covet from afar.

Would you drop $59 for the Christian Dior Velvet Eyes Backstage Eyeliners-To-Wear Adhesive Eyeliner Patches?

I would totally use these, as I am a huge fan of the cat eye, but I wouldn’t pay $59 for them. I do worry that my eyelids aren’t the right shape to pull this look off, though.

    • The full description on Sephora states that they are adjustable for all eye shapes. I don’t know just how (and HOW) adjustable they are, though. It also states that you can wear these under the eye. Reverse cat eye, holla.

I just got these and I really, really, really wanted to like them…but I dont. Just like with false eyelashes Im sure they are going to take some getting used to but the velvet feels very heavy on the eyelid. The other two styles with the crystals dont feel as heavy and are wearable – but the velvet is extremely uncomfortable. I was so disappointed.

  4. Ria says:

They’re pricy but oh so cool looking. Hoping for some lower end versions to come out soon.
